Men return to Oakfield whilst Ladies begin their Championship Season

This week will see the both the Men & Ladies 1st XV's in action. The Men kick things off on Saturday when they welcome Old Tiffinians to Oakfield. The game kicks off at 3pm

The Ladies 1st XV then begin their Championship season with a trip to face London Irish with their game kicking off at 2pm. The 2nd XV's home game against Wimbledon has unfortunately been postponed

The Ladies Director of Rugby, Dean White had the following to say

"After the incredible highs of last season, I was determined not to stand still and to try and push on once again. Over the summer we have seen some changes in both the playing squad and the coaching setup. We had some very experienced players retire from rugby and this left some huge shoes to fill, but I'm pleased to say that we have recruited very well over the summer, both in terms of players and coaches. We have added some experienced players and some very exciting younger players that are going to be the next T-birds stars. On the coaching front, we have again recruited well, with a new attack coach, defence coach and a team performance analyst coming on board, along with a new medical lead. All these additions to the setup have brought experience, ideas and a fresh look to our off-field setup, they have all hit the ground running and understand the expectations of this team.

We are excited to see how good we can be and how quickly this new look team settle. We have a tough start of fixtures for both the 1st and 2nd team, after the first four games, we will have a full understanding of where we are as a squad. The players have been working hard all summer and we have increased training to two days a week, hopefully this will pay off and also help the players understand each other.

Again, Phill has done some amazing work behind the scenes, raising invaluable sponsorship that we need to survive at this level. I would like to thank all the sponsors that have come on board this season, without you and the support of our club, we couldn't run the team at this standard.

I hope to see you all soon down the club, as your support really does make a difference on match day!"

There are 4 Youth teams in action for the boys as the Colts play their 2nd game of the season as they travel to Wanstead.
